Hi! Welcome to Little Hawk Productions and birdyheywood.com

POLYMER CLAY CREATIONS & FILM PRODUCTION

POLYMER CLAY You may be asking, "What is polymer clay?"

It is malleable, coloured clay that can be formed and shaped into all manner of things, then hardened using an ordinary oven. I suppose the best description is, that it’s the most versatile craft product on the market! I have been teaching and demonstrating with it for over 20 years, and love sharing my enthusiasm with others of all ages.
Like I mentioned it is so versatile that almost anything can be made from it.  Most useful thing I have made was a plug for the kitchen sink and the strangest thing was a full sized big toe! The largest creation was a full sized man and the toe was to poke out of the hole in his sock!
There are numerous Polymer Clays on the market but those I use are mostly, URO Clay and Fimo. We will be stocking URO Clay here on the website in the very near future. So please pop back as we are in the process of updating. Planned are a gallery page and also a forum where we can all meet up and share ideas.

FILM PRODUCTION
I have teamed up with a friend of mine, Andrew King and my partner Howard to set up a film production company. Andrew and I have both trained in film making we produce documentaries, dramas and promotional DVD's. Howard is an expert on lighting techniques and special effects.

Here is Birdy in 1987 with the full sized man she made.

The head, arms and big toe were made from Fimo.

The funny thing was that the head was too big for the oven so she carried it under  her arm to the local pub where it was baked in a catering oven!

Friend Malcolm created the body out of wire and wood.

        *** Birdy's next exhibition is at  Westpoint Exeter Crafts4crafters 28th to 30th January 2010  - see you there! ***
